In 2004, University Relations was established and dedicated its efforts to building relationships with leading universities to advance research, enhance the teaching and learning experience, inspire technological innovation, establish TSMC as a valuable research and technology partner for higher education, and recruit the next generation leaders.
University Relations, in collaboration with domestic universities and research institutions, has launch many a program and event for faculty members and students. The programs include research funding, conference funding, mature or advance silicon process offering, student research award, internship program, faculty summits, special semiconductor education program government-accredited vocational education, technology seminars, etc.
Additionally, University Relations seeks broad engagement with overseas premier universities for talent recruitment. In 2005, University Relations outreached its programs on US campuses of such as University of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, California-Berkeley, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Texas-Austin, to name a few. Moreover, an important component of the new direction University Relations is taking is an emphasis on India and Europe.
Down the road, University Relations will continuously play the role of a effective platform for faculty members and students to interact with TSMC.
